We have processed NOAA Bathymetry BAG files for the coast/Gulf of Maine area into XYZ data files which you can download and import into Olex or TimeZero. These files are provided as-is to be helpful to our fishing community of customers and future customers. If you need data other than what is here and NOAA publishes the bottom data, we can download and process it for our usual labor rates plus the cost of a USB stick. If you are using TimeZero Pro V5, the data files might be already incorporated into the TZMAPs which is easy to update.
First: Go to the NOAA Bathymetric Viewer website and make the checkboxes like this, and zoom in to the gulf of Maine area. Click on an area and make note of the survey name in the Survey’s folder (the screenshot example is H13347).
Then you can click on the link for your software and download the file(s) for that survey. These are in alphabetical order, and you can use control-f to find a particular item.
TimeZero Professional XYZ files for Gulf of Maine
Olex XYZ files for Gulf of Maine
We recommend backing up your bottom data before importing new data.
Download the files to a USB stick. To import in Olex, insert the USB stick, choose “Read”, then select the USB stick, then the files you downloaded. It may take a while to read them in. For TimeZero Professional you will need to have the PBG module for bottom recording which is normal for our customers. Insert the USB stick, go to the Timezero menu, import/export, import, scroll down and select “Depth Data – XYZ”, select the USB drive, and the files you downloaded, and import.
